Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been won on hard courts

A comeback Daniil Medvedev claimed his first trophy for 882 days with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The Russian, a ex- world number one, has had a torrid season, managing just one match at the major tournaments and experiencing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.

His inconsistency on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his service game in especial - led to him exiting of the top ten and finally parting ways with long-term coach Cervara.

Presently collaborating with Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually progressed in the recent weeks - culminating in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over opponent Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's maiden title following the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard court after that period of 2023.

Victory also means Medvedev has secured 21 victories at 21 different competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a competition with my two daughters at once, so to get a title is particularly special," stated tennis professional the champion.

"This title is in tribute of my younger daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I got when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had been defeated in his past six finals, including in the German tournament in the past months.

His defensive approach and recurring outbursts on the tennis court had led some to wonder if his skill to compete at the highest level was finished.

However the athlete has made changes in recent weeks, attempting to advance forward and compete assertively, backed up by an better serve.

The champion recovered from a break down in the opening set against the difficult Frenchman, winning 4 of the final five points to gain the advantage.

The pair traded service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, attempting for his maiden tour victory, seized the initiative to force a decider.

Moutet defended 4 early-game opportunities in a close deciding set before the Russian won the break to 15 to secure the win.

Fittingly, Medvedev clinched the win with a point at the front of the court, with the Frenchman incapable to control a volley after a lengthy match.
